Teaching stage (Pedagogical artifacts)
a) Pedagogical event Nº 3
a) Pedagogical event Nº 3
In this stage I want to talk about how the enthusiasm can be a
positive and negative issue. In elementary grades (4ºC-D) the girls
are sometimes quite motivated, but in some first classes it was a problem
because they liked to participate or liked to help me, for instance, giving handouts. But too many girls offer their help to me, all this creates a chaos because they fight amongst each other to be volunteers.
b) Reflection Nº3 “Classroom Managements”
When I started teaching I was not afraid of not being heard. But some
prospective teachers including many experienced teachers have a lot of
problems controlling their students. In these situations the scene is
frustrating so they lose their calm and start shout at their students
The classroom management is a complex issue that we have to put a lot
of effort and work into it. We are “almost teachers”, but it doesn’t
mean that we have or know “all the tools” about this complex
situation. Nevertheless, we are still learning.
It is our job to make a classroom where enjoying learning takes place
as an important mainstay. In this way we can control the students,
without shouting at them or getting angry with them, which makes the
worsening of teacher-student relations.
At the end of this stage I was be able to gain important competencies
and skills that were very useful to achieve a good performance as
teacher in professional practice. At the same time as this process I
could do reflective teaching, which allowed me to be conscious and
aware about what I was doing right and wrong to improve my performance.
