Supervision Date: November 18th
REFLECTION N°2
During my second supervision, nerves were less than the first time.
Fortunately the situation to be supervised was not an adverse one.
When the professor arrived at my class, I just called to roll and
students were finishing off cleaning their classroom because it was a
mess.
For this class, I had also prepared a Power Pont presentation to teach
“the parts of the body”, but in this case I had a Plan B for any
emergency anyway. I started showing the images, the girls were really
shy and introvert in comparison to all the classes before, so the
activity “Touch your …” wasn’t so dynamic as I expected. I think that
students were conditioned by the visit of my professor, but it is part
of the game.
When the class finished, I felt a little bit better than the first
time. Things were better, but I still think that I can do many things
even better. In this way I will keep working on it to improve my work.
I have to focus my attention on my weak points to get them better and,
likewise, reflect about my strong points to maintain them and make
them mine.
Before the second supervision feedback, I had the same issues in my
mind that were the main suggestions and advices that my professor gave
me. Such as: during the explanation I had to reinforce more the
pronunciation, and when I was giving instructions maybe give them some
examples of how to do it in a written way not orally.
As a conclusion, I know that I must improve a lot of things that this
process has helped to recognize and reflect on them. However, I am
satisfied and content because I was able to notice from this great
experience (all the complete practice) that when you put in love and
effort, things work as good as you want. Finally, our job not only is
to teach a second language effectively, but also to form people as an
integral component to become a better society
