Post- observation feedback Nº1

Supervision date: October 29th

REFLECTION N°1

When I knew that I would be supervised, I was truly nervous, because I
always do the best in my job but to be supervised in a class is one of
the most important situations during the process as a prospective
teacher. In this way I planned my class carefully using a Power Point
presentation. Obviously I was pretty worried because you never know
what is going to happen during the class, and that was what happened
to me. Until the day before the supervision, the Data Show was
available in every classroom, but the last days in the school some
“troubles/loss” occurred that made it impossible to use the Data Show
that day. So I had to “improvise” the class, which got me a little
more nervous.

On the other hand, the girls were a little bit shy but their
participation in class was acceptable. The situation and the contents
were probably not the best, you know I had to teach “passive Voice”,
it’s complicated to understand for the students because it’s a
structure that we don’t use much in Spanish, moreover, it is very
difficult to find a didactical way for teaching it.

Under the context of my nervous and the adverse circumstances that I
talked about before, obviously I think the class wasn’t what I had
expected. I knew that I can do much better things or I wondered why I
didn’t plan any plan B to get successful from a complex circumstance,
but happily from this I learnt a lot and my supervisor was very kind
giving me advice and suggestions about always having a “Plan B” for
any case. In conclusion, I learnt many things for improving my
performance as a teacher, but fundamentally I realized that we always
have to prepare an alternative solution in case our original idea
doesn’t work.
